Of these 3 qualities, which one is most important in your work right now? Quality of Life, Quality of Work, Quality of Compensation.
I am torn between Quality of Life and Quality of Compensation. Having just written that, I now wonder if my thinking each is best accomplished as distinct entities is part of my overall problem.
I returned to traditional, full-time employment more than 3 years ago to supplement our household income, allowing us to put one, and soon another, of our daughters through University while also paying off our debts. This has contributed to our quality of life.
This year, to earn more money in a way that also fills my heart and soul, I co-facilitated an online workshop with a wise, talented and beautiful photographer (Once Upon a Time: Photographs Have Stories to Tell with Kim Manley Ort). This got me back online (after a 2 year hiatus), reminded me of my unique talents and gifts, while also creating an opening for my yearning for Quality of Compensation.
I’ve been entertaining the notion of somehow building my online, and eventually in-person, workshops to the point that I could work part-time in a traditional fashion and part-time in a way that feels more meaningful and significant.
I look up from writing, and I see this.
Perhaps the magic is to ‘get outta my mind‘; to let go of confined thinking, release limited thoughts and somehow marry Quality of Life, Compensation and Work as one.
