Sometimes, It’s easy to forget the light that shines within.
There are days when the essence of who I am shimmers visibly on the surface; sprays of light I release at will, and in abundance.
There are no problems on these days, only opportunities; I can be the space in which anything can emerge and all will be okay.
On these days, my reach is vast and I can ignite the dying embers of Hope in one’s heart, spark the confidence of one who’s unsure, tend the flames of those ablaze with worry and gently illuminate all that is special about you.
There are also days when what rises from the depths feels dark, larger than me, overwhelming.
The shimmering light, as pictured above, shifts from spraying dazzle to buckling underneath the weight of the mossy rock looming above.
On these days, I forget all that I am; I fold in protectively, seeking refuge from my surroundings and all who populate there.
I lose sight of you. I lose sight of me. And I respond to threats that are not there.
Yet here I am, one person, just me; holding both the light and the dark. I am the space in which it all exists.
It is this I must remember; I am the space in which it all exists.
